Getting acquianted with herbal teas produced in Armenia
Within the framework of the EU-funded “Integrated Support for Sustainable Economic Development in Rural Mountainous Areas of Armenia” project, a visit to several tea stores in Yerevan as well as organic and traditional tea-tasting was organized. 27 farmers representing operational as well as to-be-founded cooperatives from Geghamasar, Areguni, Pambak (Gegharqunik province) and Shak, Shaghat and Angeghakot (Syunik province) communities participated in the event. At Green Day organic food store the visitors have got acquainted with Manana and Meron tea brands of local production. Then they watched a documentary on successful experience of famous Austrian Sonnentor tea company. They were treated to various both organic and conventional tea brands. During the tea taste the representatives of Darman and Mountain Tea Armenian companies have presented their herbal and fruit tea assortments. They also informed the farmers the qualitative requirements and procurement prices of raw inputs of thier companies.
